November 7th, 2016 ― Doha: Qatar Red Crescent Society's (QRCS) Mission in Lebanon has provided emergency shelter for the Syrian refugees whose tents were damaged by the recent bad weather.
In Arsal, Bekaa Governorate, 167 tents were toppled by storm winds and rainfall.
QRCS's personnel immediately secured some shelter structures as a source of warmth for the Syrian refugees and their children in the face of frost.
Arsal is a mountainous town located 2,000 meters above sea level, and it is known for too low temperatures in the winter.
To avoid the impact of blizzards on Syrian refugees living in Arsal, QRCS is contacting local, regional, and international organizations to create a joint rapid emergency intervention team, which can provide instant help for Arsal refugees in case of floods, snowstorms, or any other natural disasters.
