Highlights
Syria: On 28 September, through a joint UN humanitarian delivery to newly accessible Deir-Ez-Zor governorate, IOM provided 6,000 clothing kits with each containing five different size sets considering family needs, reaching a total of 30,000 beneficiaries.
Turkey: IOM continues to support Turkish Red Crescent (TRC) to extend its community centres’ opening hours so that Syrians can access services offered during the weekday evenings and weekends. During the reporting period, over 1,060 refugees and host community members attended social events organised by the TRC.
Lebanon: In September 2017, IOM supported the resettlement of 1,619 refugees from Lebanon to 14 different countries. Since January 2017, 13,038 refugees have benefitted from IOM’s resettlement support.
Iraq: During the reporting period, a total of 2,575 beneficiaries benefited from Technology Access Centres services in Erbil and Dohuk. Furthermore, 12 beneficiaries in Erbil completed vocational training in auto-mechanics.
Jordan: Between 1 and 30 September, registration for the school transportation programme occurred in all villages throughout Azraq camp.
Currently, over 2,600 students have registered for transportation services in the upcoming school year.
