May 12th, 2018 ― Doha: Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has distributed more than 7,300 winterization bags to Syrian students in Lebanon.

Under the Warm Winter campaign, the distributions covered 3,195 students in Arsal, 2,784 students in Central and Western Bekaa, and 1,391 students in the North Governorate.

Ranging 4-14 years of age, the beneficiaries received bags containing muchneeded winterization clothing such as jackets, pajamas, hats, scarves, shoes, socks, and gloves.

This aid helped warm the little bodies of the kids, ensure that they would attend their schools normally, and saved their households the costs of clothing.

So far, the project has benefited 25,674 Syrian refugees in total, particularly in high-altitude mountain areas. Earlier this year, 25 schools serving 11,436 Syrian students in three governorates had received 45,500 liters of heating oil.

QRCS's mission in Lebanon works hard to meet the basic needs of as many Syrian refugees as possible, particularly at times of emergency, with a view to improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable.

This project is part of QRCS's Warm Winter campaign for 2017-2018, which provided QR 13 million worth of winterization aid to 200,000 beneficiaries in seven countries, raised mainly from the donations of benevolent Qataris.
