Operational Updates

• Under its retail strategy, WFP began rolling out a beneficiary mobile phone application called Dalili across the country. The application is now available in 130 WFP-contracted shops across the country, with the goal of making it available in all contracted shops in the coming months. Dalili allows beneficiaries to compare food prices among WFPcontracted shops within their area to better allow them to maximise their purchasing power. The application also allows WFP-contracted shops to add promotional items.

• As part of WFP Lebanon’s livelihood programme, a farmers’ market was inaugurated and officially opened to the public in the city of Saida in Southern Lebanon. The market was rehabilitated through a Food-Assistance-for-Assets project, with participation from both Syrian refugees as well as vulnerable Lebanese. This project is one of seven farmers’ markets being reconstructed or rehabilitated across Lebanon, aiming to link smallholder farmers with local markets as well as provide greater access to fresh food items for WFP beneficiaries receiving food assistance
