Lebanon: UAE Embassy to Beirut continues implementing Iftar project, distributing food parcels

BEIRUT, 29th June, 2015 (WAM) -- A team of the humanitarian and development aid office at the UAE Embassy in Beirut has implemented Iftar project for more than 120 orphans in Tripoli, North of Lebanon, as part of the noble humanitarian gesture which emphasises the embassy's keenness to ensure delivery of aid to the largest number of underprivileged families in Lebanon.

The gesture was supervised by the UAE Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamad Saeed Al Shamsi, within the planned Ramadan projects for 2015.

Also, as part of the same humanitarian project, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyna Foundation (KF) also provided food parcels for over 1,000 Lebanese and Syrian families in North of Lebanon. The assistance will continue and will cover all Lebanese areas.

The humanitarian and development aid office at the UAE Embassy in Lebanon oversees all the humanitarian aid programmes provided during the Holy Month of Ramadan in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Affairs and the humanitarian organisations affiliated with the UN.
