EIRUT, 13th February, 2016 (WAM) -- The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, KF, today set off a US $ 1.5 millon aid distribution campaign in response to UAE's announcement to help the Syrian refugees in Lebanon during the winter session.
The campaign, which was lunched under the supervision of the Office of the Attache for Humanitarian and Development Affairs at the UAE Embassy in Beirut, will benefit 24,280 displaced Syrian families and the affected Lebanese.
In a statement, the UAE Embassy in Beirut announced that the distribution of aid will target a number of Lebanese governorates. The aid came in the wake of the field visits of the UAE Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamad Saeed Sultan Al Shamsi to Western Beqaa District and North Province, where he was briefed on the needs of the displaced Syrian in the tents, operating hospitals in the area, schools and markets.
The embassy said that the assistance comprises food parcels, cleaning materials, blankets, winter clothes and fuel oil.
